Special People + talent + creativity = Orange Grove Inspiration Shoot

The day just kept getting better, and better and the shots just kept amazing one after another! I had such a wonderful time collaborating on this shoot with some of the most crafty, fun, sweet, and talented women! I am so happy that the creative wedding planners from intertwined, and that the brilliant Alicia Cortez, moderntype photographer loveala, brought me on board to such a magnificent shoot! As soon as i set eyes on my stunning models I knew we were in for nice ride! She had a super short bob of just amazing chocolate brown hair, and huge striking eyes that I knew were gonna grasp the color concept i had in mind! I curled, i teased, i teased some more… added a few pieces of hair extensions and “vua-lah” …hair…perfect! then onto makeup… I wanted to have dramatic eyes, but still something that a bride could relate to and say “i could wear that.” So… Since I had gone a little more “avant-guarde” with the hair style I toned it down a bit with the makeup. I used fusia, & violet tones in the eyeliner/smudge then blended that into a coppery soft brown which picked up some of the light gold flecks in her eyes. added some lashes, bronzed like crazy and left the lip with a natural plum. This was definitely one of my favorite looks because i got to go outside of the box! All in all it was an amazing shoot where each person involved was aiming towards the same finished product. We wanted a fresh vintage, yet classical refined look! The day was nothing short of excellence from the set-up and decor, to the stylist, cake, flowers… the list goes on and on! Just amazing!

A wedding to Remember… my friends Vanessa and Daniel Lopez

Unbelievable that I am posting a wedding blog about one of my very own good friends! Yes you read correctly WEDDING…On June 27th 2010 my good friend Vanessa Padilla married her highschool sweetheart Daniel Lopez! It was one of the most beautiful weddings that I have ever attended and such a love filled day with all of our good friends sharing, drinking, laughing, eating, and dancing! Vanessa as you can already see from the pictures that you have most likely already peaked at is absolutely  drop dead gorgeous; so from the minute she told me that she wanted me to get her ready for the big day, and none other than Alicia Cortez to photograph, I knew we were going to get some out of this world shots! I dreamed up ideas about how I wanted her to look and during our trial those dreams came to my life, then on her wedding day a reality and my friend Vanessa couldn’t have looked more stunning! We did my favorite classical big, down, and sexy hair for the ceremony, then swept and slightly pinned her loose waves over to the side finishing it off with a custom white flower giving her a fresh modern spanish feel for her reception. As for Vanessas makeup I stayed in the plums, and peach family, which I feel is the best palatte for tan skin and brown eyes, popping her eyes and softening her skin!

To Vanessa and Daniel,

Thank you for allowing me to be such a huge part in your special day! I am so lucky to have friends like the two of you! I wish you both many many years of laughter, love, health and happiness! I can’t wait to watch the both of you start the rest of your lives together as Mr. and Mrs. Lopez*

Prom 2010

This year i had the pleasure of doing girls from my alumni HighSchool Bishop Alemany. It is so surreal to think that it has already been 7 years since I left the school that brought me some of my closest friends, fondest memories, years of happiness, tons of fun and laughter, and most importantly my husband to be Ariann. Prom is such a precious day because it is the last time that you and your classmates share a night, a meal, and a dance. I can’t believe that so much time has passed and that I am the lucky stylist that gets to get these girls ready for the night! I love doing all of the young ones cuz they are usually umm about 17 and perfect lol! However this year i did solely Alemany girls and Loved it! So thank you to my Alemanians and I wish you girls nothing short of the best in years to come!

An Engagement shoot- Jeanette and Jason

Jeanette contacted me a few months ago and it turns out that she was one of my sisters old sorority sisters! She made me laugh because she said “i always liked bani’s hair and wondered who did it…then I saw your work on Ala (love Ala Photography) and it clicked your Banis little sis, and YOU must do Bani’s hair!!!”  A slight color correction, a fun layered cut and the rest is history! I am so happy that I get to work on Jeanette. She is so pleasant, sweet, genuine, and such a girly girl! A week ago I got to get her ready for her and her fiances engagement shoot! I had a great time, and loved the way the two of them came out!
